CONSTRUCTIVE REST with the Alexander Technique

Learn one of the simplest and most effective exercises for lengthening the spine, releasing muscle tension and relieving mental stress. This class involves lying on the floor on a yoga mat. Dress in clothing that allows you to breath and move easily. Please wear long pants or leggings.

Alexander Technique has frequently been compared to a Western form of Zen. Based on principals of mindfulness, the technique provides a systematic method to align, relax and free the body from limiting tension habits. The technique has a strong practical emphasis and can be used to increas efficiency and ease during everyday activities such as sitting, standing, speaking and driving. In this interactive class, participants will get an introduction to the basics of the technique through gentle movement and body awareness experiments, and Alexander Technique hands-on guidance.
